Product Instruction:

Tension Dead end for OPGW  is intended to turn angle, continue, and connect terminal. Helical aluminum clad steel rod, with great tensile strength and no concentrated stress, may play a role to protect cable and assist reducing vibration. The whole set of cable tension hardware contains: outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end), structural reinforcing rod, and matching connection hardware. Clamp holding strength is no less than 95% of rated tensile strength, easy and quick to install, reduce construction cost.

 

Function:

The hardware is mainly intended to bear axial stress and distribute uniformly radial stress, so as to offer a safe and reliable holding strength on the premise of not damaging cable (mostly used in turning angle, continuing pole and terminal pole).

 

Parameter:

Configure model by cable diameter, RTS.

 

Installation of Tension Dead End for OPGW
 
Components: outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end), structural reinforcing rod, anchor shackle, extension link, thimble clevis, ground wire

Installation Steps:

1.   Assemble anchor shackle, extension link, and thimble clevis together;
 
2.   Fix anchor shackle at a hang point;
 
3.   Insert one leg of outer structural reinforcingrod (dead end) into thimble clevis;

4.   Parallel cable with both legs of the outer structural reinforcingrod (dead end), make a crossover mark on cable according to installation color mark on the outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end);
 
5.   Make the end color mark of structural reinforcing rod aligned with the crossover mark made in step 4, leaving its short-end toward iron tower, wind structural reinforcing rod about 2 pitches beginning from installation mark;
 
6.   Align the center color mark of the 2nd structural reinforcing rod, and wind onto cable for about 2 pitches levelly without overlap;

7.   As former step, wind the 3rd and 4th sets of structural reinforcing rod onto cable levelly for about 2 pitches without overlap;
 
8.   For convenience, tear the 20-30cm part from the end of structural reinforcing rod into smaller subsets winding;
 
9.   Wind its end levelly by hand (not use any tools to avoid from damaging cable);
 
10.   Align the two color marks of outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end) and structural reinforcing rod, wind one leg of outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end) for 1-2 pitches;

11.   As former step, wind another end of structural reinforcing rod for 2-3 pitches in the same way, and then wind the outer structural reinforcing rod (dead end) until 20-30cm from the end of structural reinforcing rod;
 
12.   For convenience, tear the 20-30cm part from the end of structural reinforcing rod into smaller subsets winding;

13.   Connect the pliers-clamp of ground wire, screw up;

14.   Wear with ground terminal, lock nut up;

15.   Installation is over.
 
 
Instructions:
 
1.   Select the tension clamp model according to cable outer diameter, rated tensile strength (or span), etc;
2.   To prevent from extrusion, severe impact and deformation in its moving and installation;  
3.   As matching parts, tension clamp shan’t be changed randomly, and not be used repeatedly, It may be disassembled and assembled just once, which is a permanent installation, shan’t be disassembled once again;  
4.   To wind the structural reinforcing rod, it’s required to operated by hand, not use any tool to avoid from damaging cable;
